Nigerian Premier League

Result: Sunshine Stars 2-0 Crown FC

Date: 16 October 2014

Superb goals from Tunde Adeniji and Kingsley Eduwo helped Sunshine Stars to a 2-0 victory over relegation-hunted Crown FC at the Akure Township Stadium.

The Akure Gunners were rewarded for a more attacking approach in the game, as they missed countless chances.

Crown offered little threat and failed to exploit gaps down Sunshine's wings, but the visitors' midfield struggled to keep possession well enough to feed their front men.

One minute to the end of the first half, Sunshine Stars were in front when Tunde Adeniji kept his composure in the box to steer a shot into the bottom corner from a rebound.

Former Gateway United and Shooting Stars striker Kingsley Eduwo made the game safe with a world class header five minutes into the second half.

In the final third of the match, Sunshine Stars looked the more likely team to increase the tally, but they were complacent and wasteful in front of goal.
