Spurs Snap Up MK Dons Dele Alli
Tottenham Hotspur appear to have won the race to sign MK Dons Dele Alli one of the most coveted youngsters in English football with reports saying the midfielder is due for a medical later today at White Hart Lane.
The news will come as a disappointment for Newcastle United who were rumored to have agreed a five million pounds deal for his transfer, with an option to leave the 18 year old on loan till the end of the season at the League one side.
Nicknamed the new Steven Gerrard, Liverpool were also thought to have agreed a deal to sign him in the summe,r with Arsenal and Manchester City also credited with a potential move for him.
However this January Aston Villa were reportedly challenging Newcastle for his services but Spurs came into the picture on Saturday and they look set to pip both teams for the services of the teenager who has made 76 appearances for MK Don first team two months shy of his 19 year birthday.
He caught the eyes of Premiership clubs in August after playing a pivotal role in MK Don shock 4-0 victory over Manchester United in the Capital one cup and despite playing in a deep midfield role he has scored 12 goals in 31 appearances this season.
